I have just started a Lets Play series of Torchlight II, using synergies mod.
Too tempting, I removed it and go synergies alone. Hey everyone here in r/Torchlight I come baring hope. To add to this it throws vendors with OP items and such all over the place. This is one of the reasons why I do not recommend essentials.

Reiner's Gear : some of these items are OP. It is not part of Synergies though, but it is part of one of the many mods that essentials bring. Wand Homing Projectile : in some cases it can screw you (if you want to hit a summoner for instance at distance, you won't be able to because the projectiles will keep hitting his minions) Smarter Gambler : indirectly it makes the game much more easier because you get uniques and legendaries way earlier on Power Skulls : I can't verify right now, but i'm quite sure most of these skulls are OP Potions and Spell Vendors : because of the speed buff potions
